Mere weeks away from the end of 2026 it’s time to take a deep breath and turn our ears back to the beginning of the year. Did you catch these LP’s when they were released? Good music knows no calendar.
Glimmers Continued by Velvet Trip
Released January 30, 2026. Velvet Trip are going places. Even Billboard is taking notice. Why not? This is a smooth record with synth flourishes, driving beats and confident vocals from Zeppelin Hamilton. https://www.velvettripband.com/
Sunlight Echoes by Whitelands
They disbanded in late April but don’t let that stop you from giving your ears a treat with this well produced and wonderfully performed LP. It’s a dream pop journey with texture, drama. “And it feels real, near, beneath my lungs it’s woven, shifting inward, expanding as I inhale…”
If This Life Could Start Again by Malena Zavala
The soundtrack to exploring the 14th century ruins of a monastery. “Won’t hear your voice again, Over the distant lines. Crying the last time, You knew it was the end. Won’t hear your voice again.” Beautiful voice, talented arranger and performer. One reviewer notes: “…even though it is just 25 minutes long it feels as if I have travelled alongside Malena Zavala up the metaphorical mountain and high-fived her at its highest peak…” https://www.malenazavala.com/
Slow Down by Bandie
Just how Uncle likes it: hooks, fuzz, driving beat, melody, a touch of noise melting between the magic. Can confirm liner notes: “Blending garage-punk urgency with moments of sweetness and restraint, Slow Down is a genre-less collection of alternative rock with hooks that linger.” https://www.instagram.com/bandiemusic/
