Aussie belter Vera Blue leads off this month’s UncleEars.com New Music Playlist with “Parallel Desire.” What a tune. It just so happened to come onto my radar at the same time I was binge watching the German Sci-Fi series “Dark.” There were moments I convinced myself that the song was a time traveler from the series. The fit was perfection.
Vera Blue is experimenting with a darker sound and it suits her soaring vocals. She keeps evolving out of her debut on scene back in 2013 as a The Voice contestant.
“Parallel Desire” paints an entire canvas in under three minutes, connecting desperate, dynamic, perhaps even deadly passions between to inseparable beings. It wastes no time in building to multiple climaxes and evening them out with groans and howls. Only to stop as the message sinks in and leave us with a final soft foray into the heart.
Blue’s darker edge debuted with “In The Corner” a few months before.
