The fifth UncleEars.com 2024 Song of the Year nominee is the percussion-driven banger “No Use” by German act LEEAAV.
I recently posted this LEEAAV playlist, putting “No Use” in the prime #3 track slot.
This tune is some sort of minimalist thump conjuring Depeche Mode and seemingly using the phrase “girly gun.” Or is it saying something else?
No matter. The point here is the drama, the beat, the overlap.
David Falk was born in 1962 in Montebello, California. He has lived in Alaska and Washington State most of his life. These days he runs Port Orchard Football Club. David taught English and Drama at the High School level before retiring. His musical tastes are wide-ranging but he does love a good melody and adventurous noises. UncleEars.com was founded in 2022 as a way for David to share new music he likes.
