The Matching Patterns are the guys behind Bones and Lemonade. The new band name now has two LP’s behind it, the earlier being Seafaring Fever Dream.
Dry My Blurry Eyes is an energetic throwback that sounds something like the Mod Beat Revival scene of the late 1970’s.
Take some of the intricate vocal work and harmony of the 60’s and mash it up with punk, never forgetting that guitar and melody keep the world spinning.
The album is a complete joy from beginning to end. Rousing up, rising up with “Hydroplane” and finishing with an acoustic ode to a lost friend in “My Buddy Blitz.” It’s a time-travel marvel that both captures a time and place and defies any decade label. It’s post-mod garage punk hooked on pop.
