The 80’s vibing single “Body Heat” by Goldie Boutilier continues to rise up the UncleEars.com New Music Top 40 Chart. The Canadian artist is all the way up to #3 in the latest (December 5) list.
The music is pure 1980’s, harkening back to everything from Harden My Heart (Quarterflash) to Self Control (Laura Branigan) to Smalltown Boy (Bronski Beat.)
Goldie makes it her own unique vision with fresh lyrics and a modern girl vantage point. It’s 2022. She’s happy to be in charge: “Drink two martinis and I pick a fight / Got a lot of shit on my mind / I’m leaving early to be by his side / I’m coming back for you.”

“Music and movies from the ’70s and ’80s give me endless inspiration. I’ve got a nice little playlist of songs that have influenced this album. They range from Dusty Springfield, Funkadelic and Marianne Faithful.”

Goldie released a 4-song EP in 2022. Check it out here.

“Canada; My home, my safety net. A place I can always go back to. This has given me freedom to be fearless.“

“Body Heat” has a chart history of debuting at #17, then jumping to #13, then #8 before pushing for the top spot last week at #3. It scores well on repeat listens in part thanks to the rhythm breaks, sultry vocals, and the afore mentioned 80’s-infused instrumentation.
Goldie is a musical force, but she has multiple projects over multiple “careers’ in the fire, as her website shows.
