It’s one thing to create the concept of falling in love just as the world ends due to the giant explosion of a star. It’s quite another to follow through with a song that sets the somber atmosphere and pulls the inherent raw emotions of the scene out into the open. Los Angeles artist Mortal Boy has done it well with “We Fell In Love Under A Supernova,” released September 2022.

The comments on the YouTube (link) page suggest he’s captured something euphoric and melancholy.
In his Bandcamp page short bio Mortal Boy says he is “A solo artist based in l.a. venturing in the sounds of post punk, new wave, dark wave and dark synthpop. may your music be dark, but your heart stay bright.”
The multilayered synth work in “Supernova” creates a sense of nostalgia and wonder. We are in the most intense moments of a love story and of the world itself.
A collision of destinies. And this is the soundtrack to that fleeting moment.
