“Opine” by prolific Cork, Ireland artist Collinz is an addictive 5 minute track that feels even better when you loop it on repeat past the 20 minute mark. Keep it going.

Here is the full LP “Opine,” featuring various styles, atmospheres and layered sounds.
I am entering a stretch where adventurous solo acts are catching my attention. It’s a habit I have of falling for unique voices with singular visions, or at least singular creative sources. Recently Grace From Gadgets fits that bill (article link.) Coming up soon, I will look at Daggy Man’s (Tom Calder) Brisbanite Rhapsody “The Resume’ of My Character.”
The song “Opine” comes just under halfway through the Opine LP, and eases in with a stripped down beat, piano and vocals circling with a hypnotizing twirl. Soon enough horns give your ears a treat. There is a teasing cymbal tapping.
What’s going on here? A simple take on a complex tune. Or just beauty swirling around the yard but not wanting to jump over the fence? It’s warm, inviting, but then once you enter its world you realize there is much more. A cascade of words. Strumming. Clapping. Where is the time going?
Repeat.
