Seattle band Cozy Slippers are prepping for the release of their new self-titled LP on October 14. The hype begins with the single “Nobody Knows Me, Anyhow.”
Seattle dreamy jangle-pop trio Cozy Slippers debuted their new single / video “Nobody Knows Me, Anyhow” at Jammerzine earlier today. A perfect indiepop track to help wind down the summer. A nice mix of Sundays, Sarah Records, and a guitar tone that would make Will Sergeant take notice. The video depicts a polar bear trapped in the middle of a climate change dilemma on a shrinking iceberg that transplants it all the way to a beach in Florida.

The song launches and suddenly I am longing for a drive up to Mt. Rainier. Daydreaming. Maybe eating sandwiches along the way, pulling over under a canopy of trees and stretching out on the hood of the old wagon. Fingers tapping on my window, clouds lazy in the sky, less than half a tank.
It’s shimmer and shine, a dense jangle of altpop guitars and high-range vocal collaborations. It’s a weekday with nearly everyone else at work but me with time to spend. It’s Seattle turning from summer to autumn begrudgingly.

Nevermind the hook, which is infectious, the overall feeling of the track will make your day. Beautifully crafted and birthed more than recorded, Cozy Slippers will become your next favorite band. They wrote the soundtrack to the rest of your summer.

The mountain beckons, but so does an afternoon nap. Crack the windows. Check the battery. Leave the player on. Listen to the atmosphere sneaking out from “Nobody Knows Me, Anyhow.”
My Apple Watch says it’s 2022 but the old wagon knows better. It’s 1988 and those sun-faded B-52’s ticket stubs are still clinging to the passenger side visor.
