Brisbane, Australia Dark Wave Band Dream Dali are sharpening their instruments. Operating in a searching, pulsing world of sudden guitar incisions and aided by an IV of unrelenting beats, they have surgically dissected wave, dance and psychedelic rock — using them as organs to form their own Frankenstein.

On August 9 Uncle Ears was launched and Dream Dali’s Feel The Hole became the first song highlighted. Fitting then to end the month with “Wicked Sunday.”
Offering up a scintillating slice of dark-wave psychedelia, frontman Aldous Emerson’s bewitching vocals simmer above a driving dance-rock beat, whilst 80’s inspired guitar work swells throughout.

I am enamored enough with Dream Dali to take 10 songs they’ve created over the past couple of years and play producer / engineer with my own sequencing of the tunes on a playlist I call “Nothing Real.” Check it out on YouTube here.
It’s a mix of songs from their EP Life In Legato (Spotify link) along with other singles. I just couldn’t wait for them to get a full LP out. So I did a DIY Dark Wave. The mix travels well, sounding awesome in my car.
Dream Dali continue to play around Brisbane as they build a following and craft their style. With each new single they add new sonic touches and lead singer Aldous Emerson edges his vocals closer to the front of their mixes.
