Robert “(Bobby”) Wratten (Discog link) continues creating ethereal searching glimmer pop as the creative force behind Lightning In A Twilight Hour. Their latest collection of songs, entitled “Overwintering,” is destined for year-end Top Tens around the globe.

Her Own Refrain is a soft miracle, building, wafting, playing with crescendo and decrescendo, seemingly only interested in revealing its story through loosely hung panels of sheers slowly moving from a breeze in a half-open window.
In extracting the common elements of pop and thus creating a void to fill, Lightning In A Twilight Hour manages to reconstruct something still glimmering, still pulsing.
“Her Own Refrain” is haunting, lurking on the edges of pensive melody and stripped instrumentation. A visit to a dream. A place in time where even when you throw off the chains of traditional songcraft, melody and harmony waft in the air like a residual mist.
You can’t help but inhale.
